The past few weeks we have ben harvesting willows. The willows grow near the fish hatchery here on campus. We get about 10-15 willow stakes on an average day and plant them out along the bank of the wetlands. We hope to get some pictures so what we are doing can be seen better.

This week was a short week in the mitigation. We are not having school this Friday because of veterens day. We have been diging up slucie sledge and quartering them and planting them in our wetlands. We have moved about 40 slucie sledge plants this week.

This week in the wetlands we have been putting woody debry into the bid ponds. This will help animals like local frogs have something to attach their eggs to. We have been pulling scotch broom and digging up main slucie sledge plants, quatering them and planting them.

This is the new Wetland Mitigation Crew for 2011-2012. We have been spreading bark chips along the bank of the wetlands this week. We are doing this because when we spread the Sluice Sledge we are hoping that it will help the seeds stick.

New Wetlands crew

This is the first post of the new wetlands crew. Andrew Betz, Dakota Larsen, Chris Brecht, and Austin Partridge are the new members, in taking care of, and keeping up this years wetlands.
we will be uploading pictures of the wetlands, and giving details about the projects we are doing. This week we are spreading the seeds of the Slough Sedge hedge in hopes to spread the plant and have the population take over our wetlands.
